What We Stand For

Six principles that have guided every programme, every partnership, and every graduate since 1995.

Enterprise Over Aid

Lasting development comes from building productive capacity, not dependency. We equip people to create their own economic opportunities.

30 Years of Reliability

Three decades of consistent delivery — earning the trust of the CBN, state governments, and thousands of individuals who have built their futures through our programmes.

Community at the Centre

We do not deliver development to communities — we build it with them. Our programmes are designed around real community needs and delivered through trusted local networks.

Women as Economic Agents

Rural women account for the majority of Nigeria's agricultural labour yet own the least. ICDA's WIFE programme exists to change that — fundamentally, not incrementally.

Innovation & Digital Reach

Nigeria's first self-sufficient virtual incubator. The eLEVATE digital learning platform. ICDA has always been ahead of its time — using technology to break down geographic and economic barriers.

Rooted in Nigeria, Open to Africa

ICDA's work is grounded in Nigerian realities but shaped by global partnerships — with the AEEI (USA), The Electronic Community (USA), and an emerging network of diaspora connections.

Our Leadership

The Person Behind the Mission

Dr Osita Aniemeka

Founder & Director

Dr Osita Aniemeka

Dr Aniemeka founded ICDA in 1995 with a vision to transform African development through social enterprise. His conviction: Africa does not lack potential — it lacks organised systems that channel that potential productively. Over three decades, he has built ICDA into one of Nigeria's most impactful development organisations and a recognised voice on social enterprise, vocational education policy, and women's economic empowerment.
