ICDA and CBN Renew Partnership for South East Entrepreneurship Development

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has formally renewed ICDA's mandate as Implementing Agency for the South East Entrepreneurship Development Centre (CBN-SEEDC), covering Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States for a new programme cycle. The renewal reaffirms three decades of collaboration between ICDA and Nigeria's apex bank, and signals the continuation of one of the most impactful entrepreneurship development programmes in the country. Under the CBN-SEEDC mandate, ICDA delivers business training, mentorship, incubation support, and access-to-finance facilitation to thousands of aspiring and existing entrepreneurs across the South East each year. "This renewal is a vote of confidence — not just in ICDA, but in the model of social enterprise as a vehicle for development," said Dr Osita Aniemeka. "When a government institution of the CBN's stature entrusts its flagship development programme to a social enterprise for 30 years, it validates everything we have built." The new programme cycle will include expanded digital entrepreneurship modules, a strengthened women's entrepreneurship track aligned with the WIFE programme, and deeper integration with the VEDC eLearning platform to extend reach to peri-urban and rural participants who cannot attend physical centres. Interested entrepreneurs across the five South East states can register for the next cohort through the ICDA website or at any CBN-SEEDC office in their state.
