Learning for the Real World The Knowledge Marketplace (KMP) was born from a simple observation: the skills that most often determine economic success — negotiation, customer service, financial discipline, personal branding, community marketing — are almost never taught in formal educational institutions. The KMP fills that gap. This program is not about credentials. It is about capabilities. Participants leave the KMP with immediately applicable skills that they can deploy the same week in their businesses, workplaces, and communities. Courses Offered Street Smart Business Training (SSBT): Practical business fundamentals for informal sector operators — pricing, customer relations, simple bookkeeping, and business growth without formal qualifications. Engaged Entrepreneurship (EE): Moving beyond survival-mode business to purpose-driven, scalable enterprise. Covers brand building, stakeholder engagement, and impact measurement. Health & Hobbies (HH): Turning wellness and recreational interests into income streams — fitness instruction, craft making, culinary arts, and wellness consulting. Personal Growth (PG): Emotional intelligence, communication skills, leadership development, and resilience training for individuals navigating career and life transitions. Tourism Development & Destination Branding (TDDB): Equipping communities and local entrepreneurs to benefit from domestic and international tourism through hospitality, guiding, and cultural promotion. Small Scale Business Investments (SSBI): Understanding investment instruments, savings vehicles, and cooperative finance for small business owners. Job Management Centre (JMC): Career navigation, CV preparation, interview skills, and professional networking for job seekers at every level. Format and Delivery KMP courses are delivered in flexible formats — weekend intensives, evening programs, and online modules — designed to accommodate participants who are already in work or running businesses. Group sizes are kept small to maximise interaction and practical application. Who Should Join The KMP welcomes anyone who wants to sharpen their economic edge — from market traders and artisans to corporate employees seeking to start a side business, or community leaders wanting to strengthen their local economy. Entry is free or heavily subsidised for low-income participants.
