Digital Learning for a Digital Era The VEDC eLearning Centre is ICDA's strategic investment in the future of skills development — a digital platform that extends our reach beyond the walls of our physical training centres to learners across Nigeria, Africa, and the diaspora who cannot access face-to-face programs. eLEVATE — The Core Platform eLEVATE (eLearning for Exponential Vocations, Technology, and Enterprise) is the engine of the VEDC eLearning Centre. Built on a robust learning management infrastructure, eLEVATE adapts ICDA's proven classroom content for diverse digital audiences — from smartphone learners with intermittent connectivity in rural communities to diaspora professionals accessing content on laptops in the UK or USA. Key Features Self-paced and instructor-led learning tracks Bilingual and multilingual content (English plus major Nigerian languages where applicable) Competency-based assessments with instant feedback Digital certificates upon completion, verifiable online Mobile-first design with offline content download capability Mentorship matching between experienced practitioners and learners Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Recognising that many Nigerians most in need of skills development live in communities where broadband connectivity is unreliable, ICDA operates a parallel Open and Distance Learning track that uses a combination of digital, print, and community-based delivery to make education genuinely accessible. ODL cohorts are supported by local ICDA facilitators and community learning champions who provide face-to-face touchpoints alongside digital content. VEDC Tertiary Virtual Exchange The Virtual Exchange is a learning community that connects VEDC students, graduates, educators, and industry experts across Nigeria and internationally. Monthly live sessions bring together practitioners, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaborative problem-solving. The exchange also facilitates peer mentorship, joint projects, and marketplace connections between rural producers and urban buyers. Goals and Impact The VEDC eLearning Centre has enrolled over 2,000 digital learners since launch, with students spread across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria and in several diaspora locations. Our goals for the next phase include standardising TVET delivery nationally through the eLEVATE platform, empowering 10,000 women and youth through digital literacy programs, and making the VEDC a recognised global centre for African vocational eLearning. Enrol Online All eLearning programs are accessible through the ICDA website. Registration is free for qualifying participants under CBN partnership programs.
